Datasets

Datasets

Datasets were a new concept added to RDMP in v8.1.2 . They allow users to link the data with RDMP to Digital Object Identifier (DOI) numbers and have this information be included in extractions for better attribution.

Managing Datasets

In the top nav bar of RDMP, there is a Datasets button, It will open up a new panel with any existing datasets you have.

Right-clicking on this panel will allow you to create a new dataset.

Clicking on an existing dataset will allow you to edit it.

Datasets require a Friendly name and optionally a DOI and a source - these are all freeform text fields.

Linking your data to a dataset

RDMP links catalogue columns to datasets, but there is a number of ways to do this

  1. Right click on a catalogue and you can link the whole catalogue to a dataset

    1. You can optionally link all items in the same underlying database tables to the same dataset

  2. Open up the catalogue tree and link a specific columnInfo item

    1. Again, you have the option to backfill the table this information is pulled from

View your Linkage Progress

You can see a breakdown of how many of your catalogues are linked to a dataset via the dashboards
