How do I gain access to a project?
Introduction
HIC support secure data analysis in the TRE and provide access to sensitive data in line with information governance. We understand that TRE users may need to be added (or removed) to a project and any changes in will be confirmed with the Principle Investigator (PI).
Actions required
To allow a user access to a TRE project, we will require the following:
Confirmation from the PI that the named TRE User should be added to the named project.
Confirmation from the PI that the associated and agreed TRE-related costs regarding user set-up, storage and compute considerations are acceptable.
The TRE user to undertake the mandated Information Governance training to be considered authorised under the “Safe People” principle of the Five Safes Framework. We require all users to complete either the “Research, GDPR and confidentiality - what you really need to know” MRC training or the ONS Safe Researcher training. Instructions on how to do this can be found in 'Safe People' requirements and resources.
The TRE user to sign https://www.dundee.ac.uk/corporate-information/hic-tre-user-agreement. Note that the TRE User Agreement expires after 3 years.
Next steps
The TRE Support team will contact the PI and user and request the evidence via HICSupport@dundee.ac.uk . HIC will send links to the Agreement and Information Governance training once the PI has requested and confirmed access to the project.
The user will be granted access to the named project in the TRE and credentials e-mailed for appropriate access.
Additional user access to projects will incur a cost (user set-up, storage and compute considerations for the TRE infrastructure)
