đ Introduction
Our TRE is operated within the Five Safes Framework and as such, you have to undertake Information Governance (IG) training and approvals. This is a necessity of being a secure data analyst in the TRE and HIC undertake âcredentialling' to adhere to best practice in data security. The âSafe Peopleâ principle ensures that individuals who access the sensitive data are authorized, trained, and trusted.
We require all TRE users to have completed approved training and provide proof of such. This is valid for 3 years, and we will send you a reminder notification 4 weeks before if expires.
Below are instructions for how to complete this mandatory IG training, as well as further recommended training courses to add to your continuing professional development. The MRC âResearch, GDPR and confidentiality - what you really need to knowâ course should take no more than 1 hour to complete.
HIC will accept a valid certificate (i.e. within the last 3 years) from the ONS Safe Researcher training course as an alternative to the MRC training. As with the MRC course, please send your certificate to us at HICSupport@dundee.ac.uk .
