Steps

Step 1- To create a new cohort from file can be done two ways, either from the 'Home' Page. Selecting 'New' then the 'From File' option. Or

From the 'Data Export' menu, expand the project the cohort is for, expand Cohort and right click on 'Saved Cohorts' and choosing 'Create New Cohort From File'.

Both options provide the same window allowing you to browse to the file location.

Step 2 – Data Can be imported for a cohort in either CSV or EXCEL format, for this example I have chosen CSV however both formats produce the same 'Create Cohort' window.

Step 3 -From this window there are two options:

  • Option 1: If the cohort is for an existing project, select the 'Existing' button' then choose the project

    This will populate the project information.

  • Option 2: If this cohort is for a 'new' project, select this option and the following pop up box appears

    Enter the Project Name, the file path for any project extractions and a project number if one exists. Then select 'OK'
    Both options then require the following
    Mark the check box if this is a 'New Cohort' then enter the name alternatively if this is a revision of an existing cohort, select this option, again providing the name and also provide a description of the cohort. Once all the fields are complete select the 'OK' button at the bottom of the window.

The new cohort is then created in the existing or new project and can be viewed by selecting the project and expanding the tree by using the + on the left, expand the cohort tree and then saved cohorts.

If you had selected cohort revision a new version number will appear in the version column.
